Durham Tees Valley Airport is vital to the success and prosperity of the region.
At Peel we’re passionately committed to the regeneration of the North of England and the ambitions of the Northern Powerhouse to rebalance the UK economy.
We believe that Durham Tees Valley Airport is key to powering the local economy by providing international connectivity through passenger operations and the wider site attracting investment and jobs to the region.
Regional airports around the UK have faced a decade of unprecedented challenges and many have not survived. In 2013 we announced a new master plan to address a stark economic reality – how to secure a future for the airport?
Our master plan sets out ways to create income, redevelop the airport’s land and regenerate the area – all this to meet the needs of local business and the community – and crucially protecting passenger operations.
We have now been able to secure the airport’s short term future and sit with a solid base to drive growth at the airport.
There are many questions about the airport and we wish to ensure we make every effort to answer them.To this end, we have produced a dedicated document entitled Your questions answered which can be downloaded below.
By working together and sending a clear positive message, we can keep the Tees Valley flying for the future.
